An easement is a right to use the real property of another owner for a specific purpose such as utility easements, rights given to utility companies, gas, electric, and telephone companies. Access easements give a party the right to travel over or across real property to a public street, which in this picture, is a perfect example.
The reasons to oppose the death penalty are just as valid as the reasons to stand for it. For one “killing a person before their natural death is like playing God” (Wilson; religioustollerence.org) which is a very true statement because God should be the only one who gets to choose whether a person lives or dies. Also “a 1986 study in Georgia showed that persons that killed whites were four times more likely to be sentenced to death than convicted killers of non-whites”. So basically if you are going to kill someone you better make sure the victim is not white if you don’t want to be sentenced to death. Which shows that there is still a lot of racism even in the justice system. Also the issue of cost comes up on this side because if you think about it the cost of appeals would more than cover the expense to keep someone incarcerated. In 1967, a study by Sellin compared the homicide rates between neigerboring states in which one had the death penalty and one did not. He also compared the murder rates and there was not a big deference in the numbers which means the death penalty does not really scare anyone away from committing a crime.
Deterrence is another issue surrounding the death sentence a “study by Isaac Ehrlich which found that the murder rates responded to changes in the likelihood of execution (Ehrlich). He concluded that 7 or 8 murders were prevented by each execution from 1933 to 1967 (Ehrlich). At the same time another study in New York showed that the average number of murders increased in the following an execution. Some people believe that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment, saying that another humane being has no right to take another life away so the criminal should spend the rest of there life in jail (Salin). On the other hand I do believe that you should get what you deserve, because it is not fair for the victims families and friends to not be able to witness that person die. “A lot of Christians believe that an individual that dies without being saved will go to hell for eternal punishment. By killing the person before the time when they would have naturally died, we are eliminating any chance that they might have for salvation”(religioustollerence.org.).
In the conclusion to the statements above I believe that there are more valid reasons to get rid of the death penalty because for one there really is no sufficient evidence showing that any deterrence on the community. So if it really isn’t preventing any future crimes than what is the point of it. Plus with all the new DNA research and how advanced they are getting in the criminal justice field, their have been many convictions overturned. If those inmates would have been sentenced to death than we would never know that they were innocent. The justice system is not perfect so why impose a sentence that can never be overturned once it has token place. I believe the justice system needs room for error and the death sentence does not leave any room for that. Yes I do understand that most executions take place years after the sentence has been imposed and there is plenty of time to try and prove your innocence, but God should be the only one to choose life or not, it shouldn’t be done by people that sin themselves.
